By choice they are hiding their identity, so I'll treat them like they are not there.
Anyway it could be a CFA car on the way to an accident or fire (not all are painted red), a patient transport vehicle, the SES, the RSA, a Vic Roads car, a private security company, the pace car from the local track, a new-age Hoon having some fun. They all have flashing lights and most have sirens too.
Without any visible indication how the f*** are we supposed to know who's who?
For a start, all fire vehicles & ambos are clearly marked, regardless of what colour they might be; they are quite obviously NOT COPS and just need you to get out of their way. Remember, it could be your house on fire, or someone you care about in need of assistance that they're trying to get to ASAP, so pull over. It's only the cops that have completely unmarked cars.
Oh yeah, and good luck to anyone trying the "I didn't know for sure that you were cops" defense. Let me know how you go with that. Do they have internet access in prison??
