.....If that behaviour is tolerated in the name of hardening up and laughing it off by other members as normal day to day life, the actions of those people are condoned.
They should not be in any way and there is no justification in the victims having to put up with it or leave.......

.....Guilt and self esteem usually control normal civilised actions but for a select few, they disrespect the norm in the name of humour.
This is what causes the victims to simply stay away.

Hear Hear. May I also add something else that moderates aberrant behaviour by social misfits; a smack in the mouth. Something you can't quite manage on a forum.
