Sticky Throttle

I'm after some suggestions re , When I snap the throttle off the revs hesitate before reducing, Like a dry cable on a BSA or Triumph. I have checked throttle cable operation & found nothing out of place .Also being a twin cable throttle you actually pull it back anyway .Are there any sensors that are commonly known to cause this. It's only annoying & not actually effecting the riding or dangerous .Any idea's appreciated .
