Maj don't know anything about superchargers ;) but i am thinking of getting one on my next bike so i can learn, won't be as much power as a turbo from results posted on various sites but will be much more linear... maybe boringly linear ...
my thoughts on cams, no experiance... but, a supercharged engine i would think should be treated like a big all motor , there running on 14.7 psi boost std (atmospheric pressure ) if you raise the boost pressure the dynamics are still similar
not at all like a turbo that can have all sorts of complications with exhaust scavenging and back pressure
so if i were to build a 1580 supercharged i would pick a fairly big set of cams then play with the cam timing on the dyno
may be a bit lopey at idle with big cams and low comp but the bigger capacity will help some
Happy to be corrected on any of these points :)
Actually i know a little, already have one for my AMC Javelin
