A bent output shaft will have the same symptoms.
Just change that.
If you want a list of stuff to check you will get one,(but it wont be for easy to access parts) I would rather you diagnosed it further then just taking pot shots at what could be wrong.
Rod your help would be handy but not for pushing but for listening and a 2nd opinion.
Option 2 is put it up on a dyno.
