Just for Info': New vehicles (inc' bikes) under warranty can be serviced by any licensed mechanic in a licensed workshop premises. This will not affect ur warranty, even if they don't use genuine parts!. If u need to make a warranty claim then it must go through an authorised dealer, they cannot legally reject a warranty claim on the grounds that it has been serviced by a non authorised dealer/workshop, providing that the maintenance schedule has been kept up to date.
If for eg: an engine shits itself under warranty and the vehicle has been serviced by ur local mechanic and the cause of failure is unknown and it becomes a warranty claim and the dealer/manufacturer refuses the claim because an (say) aftermarket oil filter is used.
They, the manufacturer/dealer, has to prove without doubt that the said aftermarket oilfilter was responsible for that engine failure. If proven beyond doubt that the aftermarket oilfilter was at fault, then the insurance co. for the aftermarket oilfilter must pay for damages.
