my nephews from canberra just arrived a few days ago..
in NSW to get your red p plates its 120 hours.and in thoes hours you need 20 hours of night time driving..once you completed that you do your driving course and when you pass you go onto the red p plates.
once you turn 18 you then do another driver course and when you pass you get the green p plate.
in canberra its not a requirement that you even do 50 hours.if you pass the driving test you go onto red p plates and once out of ACT you can do the 100km speed limit.
i was astounded to learn that my nephews who have minor knowleged at driving were given huge freedom on the road..also they can drive bigger weight too ratio cars as well.
its damned scary...
why is the ACT so different???
