Gen 1 to Gen 2 Hayabusa

Graham, I suggest you consider the Gen II busa to be a GEN 1 that has been sorted with a big block motor, better brakes - they are much better, better handling - it steers quicker, better lights front and back, longer life chain and sprockets due to the larger diameters of the sprockets, smoother by far and longer service intervals.
The dash is beautiful, with a high screen it is more comfortable to get in behind, the fuel consumption is better and the only extra weight is in the meaty mufflers. Piss them off and it is immediately a better bike in every respect.
