Police Bikes Undercover
UNMARKED police bikes will hit the states roads from next month as the latest weapon in the battle against road carnage.
Two powerful motorcycles with hidden lights and siren would be trailed on the roads in the southwest Queensland during the January holiday period, Police Minister Neil Roberts said yesterday.
The unmarked motorcycles will look like civilian bikes, but will have red and blue LED lights built into the body work and a siren mounted behind the front cowling.
Motorcycle police patrolling on the unmarked bikes will not be in uniform, but will carry official identification. If the trail is successful. more unmarked bikes police bikes will be rolled out next year.
