I agree with Davegc on his thinking here.
I don't see any significant change in the site, it's browser numbers or the amount of posts.
What I do see is a lot of fake memberships cropping up all the time for no other reason but to access the server.
The amount of cpu usage reported by the hosts is in comparison to the other customers. It may well reflect a drop in their usage and not an increase in ours, therefore requiring an increase in revenue.
