I spent a few years in the Army when I was younger, the best thing I ever did, when I joined I was a lazy slob! after a couple of years of service, I was able to hide it realy well, but was still a lazy slob down deep!! lol
Ruffy Jr, you will never regret it. If I can offer a couple of words of advice, they would be Don't sweat the small stuff, keep your head down and just keep putting one foot in front of the other. The system has changed a lot over the years, however, the key goal of the training staff is still the same, break you down, to enable them to build you up again, stronger, physically and mentally. When things look the hardest, just put your head down and push on.
One more thing, be careful about your job selection, while rifleman sounds like a lot of fun, it won't help you much if and when you decide to leave the services. MP is a good choice, however, have a good look at Medic or Signals.
Good luck mate, keep us posted.
