Changing to VOIP for my home phone has been the best thing I've ever done.
Literally saving thousands a year.
With an 18 yo daughter you know what they are like on the phone and especially calling mobiles.
Now...no stress.
I pay $18 a month and that's it, covers everything.
Unfort I have to also pay Telstra line rental of $20 a month but even with that I save HEAPS.

Just get a VOIP box for $70 and away you go.
All through my existing cordless phone system (4 cordless phones) so you don't know the difference at all.
Highly recommended.
