I remember when.........

Soft drinks came in glass bottles.
Plastic bottles had the big black plastic base cup on the bottom and afer they were consumed they ended up on lawns filled with water.
Petrol was leaded.
Cars had contact breaker ignition and a carburettor.
A hotted up car had two carburettors!
Cars were made of steel. Accidents were minor and easily repairable.
You could fix the car yourself with a few mates, a few beers, and some tools.
All L and P platers had cars that were just in their budget, and they spent the weekends fixing them so that they could get to work on Monday.
Radio came in AM only!
People cared about other people - that has changed. Everybody is in it for themselves now.
You could put an indicator on and a gap appeared.
If you had a baby you didnt get $7K
If you knocked over a 7/11 then you got 5/10yrs. If you argued the point you got 12yrs.
Mommy and Daddy could smack your arse and if you sooked to the police they would smack your arse then take you home to Dad to reinforce the mesage.
