Hi Syd,
I had the same problem with a tracking unit I had fitted to a previous bike, it was draining the battery and I couldn't start it if I had not used bike at least once a week. I had the tracker guys fit a sleep mode which drained less power by the alarm turning itself off after 10 minutes and only draining if it was triggered but it still killed a few batteries (they drop a cell if left to fall to low) so I ended up ripping the thing out, problem sorted.
