The undertray stays in place. Take the cowling around the rear of the bike off and it leaves you with access to all you need. Cowling requires you to remove the seats, pop out the link panel between the seats. Remove - 2 large Phillips head screws under the pillion seat, the grab rail (or the 4 screws that would normally hold the grab rail if your just running the hump), 6 plastic lugs joining the cowling to the undertail (3 each side), the 2 frankenstien bolts, and the crome screws either side of the front of the cowling. Flex the front of the cowling outward as you slide the whole thing backward and slightly up. As you are part way off, you need to unplug the tail light wire harness, then the whole thing lifts away.
The plastic lugs need to have the centre pin pushed in, then easily removed. When putting them back in, slide the pin half way out, locate, then push home the pin to secure.
