Also, if you are getting the GS, you might want to think about the 'F', GSF500, it is faired and slightly cooler. In saying that, the fairings get a bit expensive when you drop it in the driveway, and you will, we all did, but it is COOLER! And that can't be undersold.
Hi Heidi
Thanks very much for your offer.... I ACCEPT!! The negotiations begin this afternoon up this end of the world. However,GSF500 is not on the list. Here are my current choices.....
GS500E, GS500K, GS550, GSX400E, GSX400F (is not whole list, just this range)

Do you know you have until December 31st to claim the tax break.
I will be taking advantage of the tax break myself to buy a new Boring Car!
Not in any hurry to do so, been to busy and need to shop around.
I want the Holden SSV Ute, nice Black one, to go with my bike.
HAVE YOU BEEN FOR YOUR LEARNERS PERMIT YET ?
Thanks Mutha. I believe it is on a sliding scale re amount of tax break and time of purchase. Unfortunately I have to spend by 30/6/09 regardless - ridiculous isn't it???? LOL.... I can see you standing out in the carpark looking at your matching bike and ute!!!! Love it!

Apparently I just have to sit tight... lucky enough plenty of the dealerships will take my money now and hold onto it just in case it does happen..... lol

If you get any road gear get it from HISIDE leathers at Salisbury Phil is a good guy and his prices are less than most.
As for the bike the Gs500 is a top bike my son had one and I really liked it but what you have to look at is how big or small are you are as you have to get your feet on the ground at some stage LOL.
I dont like the GT650 or 250 as far as I have heard they like to corrode and the Gs 500 has some issues with this as well but not as bad as the GT650.
But in the end it all comes down to how much you want to spend.
Hmmmmm... have had a friend get a dodgy road worthy for a bike he was selling privately through them ********CORRECTION IT WAS SUZUKI SPRINGWOOD************* (he was buying a new bike through them at the same time), which was good for him I guess, bad for the purchaser of his bike.... makes one wonder what they do for the rest of their "customers"... and whether I'd like to be on the receiving end of the so called favour for another customer.
GS500 is looking the go if I can't get what I want. Don't want to spend the $ on a Ducati Monster at the moment. It's only for a year.
I'm 174cm tall and only weigh 63kg -(I like to think all muscle, but who am I kidding!!??). I'm out and about this arvo to sit on a few more. I'll ring Hiside to see what prices they can do. Thanks :)
