This isn't going down too well. How about we tender for venues again? Sorry if it sounds like upsetting some, but we need agreement on the most popular venue. May I suggest that the poll be reset & suggesged venues added via posts over the next month. At least any critic would then be silenced by the poll result, what ya think?

Gnarbunkle I can see what you're trying to do and I applaud the suggestion. Under 'other' circumstances it might be appropriate... but this whole selection process (for both dates and venues) was very transparent, democratic, well organised, well managed and well publicised. Everybody had their say, everyone was given the same amount of notice, every vote counted. I don't believe it needs to be repeated just because some members got all excited about one particular venue and started making side plans. That's only natural.... but their exuberance doesn't mean that the selection process has been subverted. After all, they only got one vote each... same as the rest of us. Voting isn't closed and a final decision is yet to be made.

As far as Jindy is concerned... in the original thread about venues there is some discussion about moving it away from that venue. Kawa might not have seen that. But in the end and for whatever reason, people didn't vote for Jindy.

Had the process been shoddy or lax, then sure I'd be supportive of starting over. But it wasn't.... so why should we be diverted, directed or dictated to by a minority who had the same voting rights as everyone else.

I'm sure they answer some of the detractors or should I say Divertors above.

We've got a good transparent process going here. Divertors and detractors all get to have their say along with everyone else.

The great part of this process is that the "Everyone Else" are the majority of our members and their choices will be done.
