rear shock oil weight?

umm if it were that simple suspension gurus would be out of business.Yes alot of shocks are rebuildable but shim stacks and valve hole sizes, oil viscosities, bleed needles etc all affect each other.A thicker oil for example can lead to less control as less oil flows through the valving and more bypasses via the shim stack.Take it to someone and tell them what you want to acheive and it will still be cheaper than a new shock but the results for overall performance won,t be as good,Ive been there and done that with standard shocks before.Hats off for having a crack but theres a bit to learn to save a few hundred bucks.
