Sorry to crap on everything. But having researched the issue of helmets this is the law in NSW, QLD and Victoria(and no doubt the other states);
If it is not specifically AS/NZ1698 approved it is illegal to wear it on the street. No ifs, buts, its as good as yada yada. If you need to see the legislation rather than opinion read my recent thread on Helmet (Helmet laws NSW, Qld and Vic)
Contrary to some comments the Australian standards are similar to the US Snell standard and perhaps superior to the DOT standard and to the current European standards (the Eu standards are designed for light helmets that only need to withstand one impact).
BTW the fine in NSW for not wearing an approved helmet is $$ plus 3 demerit points.
Apart from all that its a great looking helmet.
