Hey mate,
Fairing is a pain in the arse until you've done it once then it's a breeze. I find it helps to raise the tank when doing it, but have done it many times without bothering to do so.
I'd change the oil/filter earlier, and again at 1000klm.
As a member here called kawasuki once said:
"anyone who runs there bike a 1000 klms with all that shit in the motor has rocks for brains, i have seen oil after approx 1000-1200 first service with little shiny bits in the oil ,now that goes around and round your little motor. After 350 i would drop the oil and put some new stuff in and again at 800 , spend a few $$ and save your bores."
