Advice on Luggage Rack please

That is a LOT of gear Lowai, remind me, was that when you were moving state? I remember being very impressed at the time.

For a big trip, I do the 60 litre ventura bag with the ventura rack (which is a bit shit, but seems to be the only thing on the market) and a bagster tank cover and bag. I put the ventura bag on the pillion seat behind me (keeping the weight over the back tyre) which leaves the back of the rack for a sleeping bag if I need it. PERSONALLY, I find that is enough gear for when you are unpacking the bike each night and carrying all that shit into your room or up stairs in a pub. Whatever you carry, you need to be able to do it in one trip, because two trips to the bike leaves your gear vunerable to thieving f*&^ing hounds. Just a tip.

That pic was taken when I moved from Bris to Melbourne. That particular time I had to take enough gear (work stuff, clothes, living things etc) to last me 3mths until the whole house & wife moved.

After 2yrs, the trip back to Brissy was a little lighter as most things went with the removalist. On the bike I only had the Ventura bag & the tank bag.
Was quite comfy. Lay forward on the tank bag, put the feet on the back pegs. Was almost able to have a snooze......
