Well I can honestly say that I haven't done many big trips on the Busa yet but I have done the hard yards on my old GSXR1100.
Have ridden across from WA 3 times for 1 x Eastern Creek and 2 x Phillip Island MotoGps.
My last trip across from the west coast to the east coast was few years ago with my mate on another GSXR1100 we were both away for 3 months and what a trip. We put in the hard yards and rode from Kalgoorlie to the Sunshine Coast Queensland in 4 days 1000+K's per day. In saying that those 4 days to Qld the weather wasn't very good to us, it pissed down every day all the way across and I can tell you there's nothing worse than hitting a flooded section of road or two wheel sliding across the wrong lane into an oncoming truck now that got the heart racing.
Once we hit the Sunshine state and why they call it that I don't know but every time I have been to Qld on a bike within 1/2 an hour of crossing the Qld border we have always been rained on. Anyway spent a couple of weeks up and down the coast from Noosa to the Gold Coast, from there we headed down the east coast and took in some very nice roads like the Oxley, the Mighty Snowy Mountains and so on. We visited the reefton and Black Spurr once we got to Melb and then met up with 6 other guys from WA for the Moto Gp at Phillip Island. From there back home via the Great Ocean rd and a stop of up in the Barosa Valley to par take in some wine tasting and between 8 of us we spent 4K on wine and port and then the lovely people at the Yalumba Winery shipped all the goodies home for nothing for us.
All up me and my mate did 30,000k's in the 3 months and can honestly say that I would recommend it to anyone if you got the time there is some fantastic places within Aus and the other reason why we have a bike is the roads. There is roads like you wouldn't believe for the guys that haven't experienced them and some bloody great riding give it ago you'll love it...
