Id be worried about running 2 different materials also, especially the thermo properties & different expansion rates. Sounds like a recipe for disaster to me

In saying that, just look at the LS series chev engines, they seem to work ok, but maybe the core material is different.

I think if suzuki designed the block to have a certain bore coating then you should stick to it.

Metalurgy can be a science that few understand properly.
