Apologies if this is a dumb question but why do you need to replace the coating, why canâ€t you just hone the bore out and replace with over sized rings. Is it that the metal under the coating is to weak or of a composition that requires the additional friction decrease for heat dispersion? I have read all the benefits in the ads and manual but whatâ€s the cost to benefit ratio and can you get away without it.
