machine early igniton rotor to 32bit tooth

Has anyone machined a 8 slot stator/ignition rotor to match up to the later type? I just got a late rotor and was compairing it to the early rotor and you should be able to machine it to match.I know the tooth profile is different but there should be enough to get the correct shape. Would be cheaper. I have got a spare 8 slot, so when time permits will look into it.

Has anyone got a trashed busa crank they can cut the end of to use as a mandral? Leigh
