Question on starter and lot more.....

Hey Bill, is the starter engaging the motor at all or just spinning without any effort going into it? At 80K the damned thing is just run in bloke. The loud thud noise is a bit of a worry.
Is the 2nd gear nudge you are speaking about you jump starting the bike or is the starter engaging the motor?

After about few cranks, when I jumped the bike. the starter was spinning without engaging at all, then I put the bike in gear and nudge it a bit - put is back in neutral and started it with starter. it worked after about 2 attempts.

The loud thud noice was when I was trying to start it and I think I re-engaged the started quickly....after the first trial.

Is this a starter clutch or something.
