I got to the stage with my old Copper one (which I still) but to chuck buckets loads of money at a old bike would just have be a waste of money so I decided to started fresh and go again
How much have you spent on yours then Glen, your motor probaly cost more that my change over for a new Gen2 and thats not counting your new front end & brakes, swinging arm etc
Motor cost approx the same as changeover price including pipe. All the other bits were already on there and i wasnt prepared to go back to stock brakes suspension etc, etcRemember my bike had radial mount brakes and ohlins forks before the gen2 came out,a gen1 didn,t really need them i just wanted them.revalved forks and good pads and rotors is sufficient for most.If you had even a mild motor like dads in ruffys bike you,d still get a gen2 beater for less than changeover price, most are afraid to lay a spanner on their bikes and want suzuki accountability when they break it.My bike is definately not a return on investment bike, its built to perform far better than oem and that costs lots more than oem.If you want value for money i,d run any gen2 with a bike like ruffys one with a motor like dads one around a track or in a straight line and still have money in my pocket.buying a gen2 is an easy and instant performance upgrade, thats why most do it.I,m not most, the road less travelled has its rewards.
