mate - probably nothing to do with your noise but i had a knocking noise in the front of my 99 that could be heard when going over bumps - drove me mad - after i pulled the nose cone off it was a bloody hornets nest on one of the indcator wires. good luck on finding it - will be interested to know what it turns out to be.
