Folks,
I agree with Rev's sentiments. I thought that everyone who was able to assist the guys did so. I read the criticism of the lads who finished the loop and it was unjustified. There were more than enough people looking after the guys and they only left after checking that they were not needed.
The collection of the bikes, the offers to make them good and provide parts is fantastic and reinforces my high opinion of the club and the guys I met on the ride. I would also mention the courage of Ruffy and Gnarbunkle who were extremely "helpful" even though in pain and traumatised.
The policewoman (Tanya) was excellent as were the ambos. Tanya agreed that the accident was due to road conditions so no neg driving charges will be laid. I can't help but think that the conduct of the whole group; the assistance given to the guys, tania (many stayed directing traffic etc) and the ambos must have demonstrated that we werent a bunch hoons and may have influenced that decision ( the number of grey heads probably helped as well). She told me that she has often seen bikers act like idiots in the area and that in the vast majority of times Neg driving charges would be laid.
I would also like to think that the assistance is something that we can expect from most riders and many other bikes and cars stopped to offer assistance.
To this end a quick mention of my mate Bruce who deep down is worthy of a Busa even though he rides a Beemer. He stayed at the point directing the traffic approaching the accident, out of everyones site and the excitement for the whole time until the copter flew off.
Cheers
