Yes, the stock will do, but it tends to get much more wobbly around a bend at higher speed. The Elka shock I have has (4) adjustments so I just stiffen it up a little and it seems to stick better on the track days, or loosen it up a little and get better grip on the open road.
I feel the "Good sales pitch Ray" is unwarranted and I feel Kawasuki is doing more than just a sales pitch. He's letting Busa riders know about what's out there... and most of us are happy to hear it.
On a personal note Busgo, and I have this dig at you because we joined the club at the same time, so I've known you for a while...
...wasn't it you that said the 99 Busa didn't have any brake issues and stock brake lines were good enough... then went on to get braided lines years later, only to sing their praises???
I dont know anything about shocks.
But i can tell you,the standard busa brakes, are SHITHOUSE.
An in my opinion, ARENT up to the job the standard bike
is capable of. Eg washing speed off with ease.
I had an 06 gsxr 1000 for 2 odd weeks.
An it braked 10 times better than my busa did.
An my busa was new at the time mind you.
So you cant say wear an tear..
I wont say what speeds, but the gsxr 2 finger braking
was more than enough.
The busa , a handfull an then some.
' 2 finger stoppies ' like one salesman said MY

Im talking about the gen 1 busa mind you.
