Thanks to all the practical help re removing the scratches. The replacement parts, genuine suzuki, cost $150. I've continued to use swirl X to lower the scratch threshold. To the rant wise arse who can't understand how it could happen twice maybe he would understand better knowing that I had an accident at home 23 August where the ladder gave way and I came down pretty hard - broke a bone in my neck, four fractured ribs plus. On reflection I shouldn't have been doing it alone ie getting the bike off the stand, and since I got my motorcycle licence at 17 my riding experience puts me now aged 56 a mere 39 years, so suck eggs!
