The Australian cars are certainly getting much better, but still way over priced for a locally manufactured item.
For the price of a new commodore or ford you can buy a VERY nice 2nd hand Mazerati, Porch, Merc, BMW etc.
I had a 1998 Ford LTD.
When new (not bought by me) it was AU$78k. When it was 6 yrs old, & in perfect condition,I was offered $2000 for it as a trade in on a AU$135k car.
AU cars just don't hold value. Not that any car does, but AU cars are certainly not at the top of the list.
