G'Day fella's
My two bobs worth on genuine servicing-- my son has a 01 TL1000r which he had our local (and Brisbanes biggest Suzi dealer) perform a 24k service on, after which no. 1 plug lead caused a hole in the radiator due to not being pushed home fully and a small pebble lodged between it and the rad, they charged us to fix the rad and had the bit of grit taped to the invoice saying the plug cap can often shake loose.
Had a winge to shop owner who said he would cut that cost out of our next service which was a 48k on our hayabusa, not long after that service it started surging which as it turned out was not due to anything service related but in the process of checking the bike out I found-
1/ Throttle bodies fully loose from the service
2/ Air flap in airbox disconected from lincage
3/ fuel filter in external fuel pump fell out in bits(was 7 years old):I paid extra to have this looked at while trying to eliminate surge.
4/ Pair valve hose had an m10 allen bolt shoved down it
5/ Irridium plugs I paid for during 48k service had been replaced with std. plugs shortly afterwards while Suzuki tried to find surge.
6/ TPS settings where way off std. position?
There are quiet a few other issues I have found since I last had my bikes to a dealer, it now leaves me with the question of if I buy a new K8 or 9 who will I entrust it to for the warranty period? I am an A grade mechanic myself but I dont work in a shop who can stamp the service book.
Regards Norvin
