HID Lighting - All You Wanted to Know But were Afraid To Ask
#13
Good post. I bought an HID kit last year for the Busa, it's great, and now I've just bought in a swag of car kits from.....China! Dual beam car kit (H$s) worked out at $104 a kit. Two globes (these are the ones that have a solenoid operated shutter internally, that shields the lamp a bit on low beam and lets it shine fully on high beam. So more expensive globes than normal, plus then it needs a relay to pick up when you want high beam. Still a very simple installation and excellent results.
One original light plug goes to the relay (which also has a 12V and earth connection), and then the relay switches both globes. So one original light plug left un-used.
So that's the Busa, the Grand Vitara done and one kit to go in the Austin ute, but I had to get H4 inserts for that as the originals still had a candle holder fitted!
