I buy stuff on ebay by paying cash directly into sellers accounts. So that the seller can identify my payment amongst maybe hundreds of others, I ask the teller to add a personalised numbered designator to the deposit details to confirm my payment. If they can do this with cash...........why not cheques

The flaw to me is that it isn't compulsory to fill out that notation which is ridiculous.
I said to Sandra ask one of the head honchos at NAB.
She says you're a customer call them and ask.
I do and get the runaround I expected.
Its a very valid question.
But staff are to scared to question anything by the sound of it.
Just play the yes game...yes yes yes.

If anyone else works at NAB out there I would appreciate someone finding a real answer..
