It looks as if it is affecting Australian models as I received a letter from Suzuki yesterday and it states in part…
“Our investigation has identified that there is a possibility that the ignition switch lead wire can be affected following repeated movement of the handlebar (worst case). In the case of the lead wire breaking, electric power supply will shut off, and the engine may stall. In view of the problem, we have decided to carry out a recall campaign to inspect the ignition switch lead wire routing. In cases where the lead wire is routed incorrectly, the lower portion of the ignition switch containing the lead will require replacement.
Please try to limit the amount of time spent riding the motorcycle until this Safety Recall Campaign has been carried out.
This Safety Recall Campaign will commence immediately.
You should contact your nearest Autorised Suzuki Motorcycle Dealer to arrange for tis work to be carried out as soon as possible. It will be done at no cost to you for part or labour.â€
It doesnâ€t state what VINâ€s are affected as it only lists my particular bike. Anyway I guess this answers the question the recall will affect bikes here in Aus.
