Hi Fellars all of you have made some good comments about both DID and RK Chains. The 3 times that I have travelled across the country on a GSXR11 I have used both brands. I would probably have a preference of the RK over the DID. My last trip I did 30,000klms on the same chain and sprockets and all up that set did 45,000klms. Those klms involved all sorts of riding conditions and yes you would be totally correct in saying that keeping the lube up and chain well tensioned is critical to getting good life out of the chain and sprockets. I must admidt that one thing I hate is poor maintenance on a bike I get really pissed of when a bike cruises past with a loose chain or even worse a chain that is U/S. The one trick that I thinks helps with good life is to lube your chain at the end of the day or ride while the chain is hot. It is given a chance to stick and next time you ride you don't get as much lube flicked everywhere. Cheers..
