Recently picked up a solar panel charger from the supercheap store, cost $19.75 on special. As long as the panel is in daylight it keep's the battery topped up with a very small charge rate. Not enough to overcharge or boil.I fixed the panel to the outside wall of the shed and run the wires through a hole to the inside.I've tried it out on my truck battery which I only use once or twice a month and it keeps that topped up no worries. Now connecting it to the bike batteries when I go away on holiday.
