I think you made the right choice too Rod. I've been in that situation before and came close to wiping myself out trying to keep up with faster riders.

Are you serious Pommie? No one asked for anyone to keep up, just come out and join in. Great when everyone has a go. We had barely left the urban boundaries and hadn't even broken any posted limits when the 'Apricot' dearly departed the group. See you next time out Rod you'll have a blast.
I ain't a fast rider but enjoyed some spirited pace, great roads, good scenary and top company as much as any ride I've been on.
