In the UK they call them BECs (Bike Engined Cars - brilliant, ain't it?) and there's a whole host of different cars. I've seen articles such as mini with two bike engines (Mid engined RWD), a Mid-mounted GSXR-1000 engine in a Smart FourTwo and of course the various iterations of the Lotus Super 7. They use all sorts of engines - apparently the 1000cc kawasaki engine is the best for power vs weight or something like that.
I rang around a while ago and while you can build road registerable Westfields for Australia (self-build only), ADR compliance doesn't include the 'busa engined XTR2, or the 'busa engined "Megabusa".
