General riding in traffic

As I harped on some time ago the testing and licensing procedure in Australia is a joke.Some instructors form a particular part of the comunity teach their own people due to language and other barriers they may find but my problem is(we actually tested this with a friend of ours from Osaka & speaks Mandarin) that some of these techers have barriers themselves so basically its like the blind leading the blind.On the other hand lets not forget the older population who have had their license for over 40 and 50 years who are not up to date with the road rules creating hazardous situations.In Europe when you turn 60 or so you have do a refresher course/test on road rules,eyesight and be medically fit.Its just logic that your eyesight,flexibility and reactions are not what they used to be so it just makes sense to see if you are compitent enough to hold a driving permit.Maybe one day the auothorities here will see the light and common sense will prevail.
