There is one diff between Vic and NSW - don't know about the rest of the country - we only have to pay for our custom registration once - to buy the plate - after that, it's ours. I believe that in NSW the rego is higher every time if you have a custom plate, is that correct?

Qld is the same Richard. Just the one off purchase for the plate & then standard ongoing annual rego.
Big difference is the actual cost of the plate.
Vic is only $395. Qld is $2500
