I just like to see Australia sell its own products and have its own Doctors thats all cause we are very capable of doing, plus you cant even compare Chinese products with Australian products.

Also about moving to other country Ive traveled the 7seas :) there is not 1 country in the world that could compare to Australia.
A lot of it is high wages in Australia. Much higher than the equivilent in other countries. That alone is detrimental to our products because they are just too expensive on the world market due the the amount of labor cost involved in the production.
High wages are certainly good for the employee, but the overall effect is that the demand for our produce drops due to it's high price.
The follow on effect from that is that the Australian manufacturers try to make the actual item with cheaper raw materials to compensate for the extra they need to payout for wages. Then you get a high priced item which is not as good quality as it should be. Which again drives customers to other suppliers. OR they automate & remove the employee totally which is certainly no good for the employee.
So ultimately the manufacturer goes overseas to produce in a cheaper country.
Also, You refer to "Cheap Crap Chinese Products". I agree many Chinese products are exactly that, but you should understand that this is what the Chinese LOCAL economy runs on.
You need to understand a little of the Chinese culture.
There are 2 main things that drive a "traditional" Chinese person's life. 1) To save money 2) to look good in front of others
You & I would happily pay $1000 for a washing machine which would last 15 odd yrs. A Chinese person would think you are crazy doing that. They would rather pay $80 for a washing machine that would last 1yr. So in the short term they have saved money. And in 1yr time they buy another one. They do this with many of their items & so they constantly have new things in the house & look good in front of others.
So the Cheap Crap Products are actually in demand in China. And then the overseas companies want to buy this stuff & the Chinese manufacturers are happy to sell it.
So my comment is, don't blame the Chinese for selling an item which they have been selling internally for years. Blame the large buyers who exploite these items & sell to us for way too much.
