Rear Brakes

My rear brake pedal feels like a block of wood - anyone got any tips on improving brake feel? The only way you can tell it's doing anything is by standing on it while the bike is going slowly.

lotsa things you can do. check fluid maybe old, replace line if old (4yrs), check pads if biting, maybe cylynder pot has little movement or stuck, adjust lever. maybe just the pads have residue and not biting, try sintered EBC HH.

Sounds like the slave cylinder is binding up. Common problem for bikes going back into the dark ages. All you need is a rider whose foot is lightly on the brake pedal for a while and it all gets hot and cooks. Then it doesn't work too flash. Rip it apart and clean it.

\After you have discussed a warranty fix for your rear brake with your shop I suggest that you get in touch with Ray (EasiridersImports) on this board and ask him about getting you a full floating ductile iron rear disk rotor. They are very impressive in their feedback and braking ability.

btw I am not related to or employed by ERI, I just buy a lot of braking gear from him as he has the best gear available.

pull out the main return spring on the rearset.This gives a much lighter lever and alot more feel.I did this when i changed rearsets and found this by mistake.Dads rear rotors help alot too.
