Tyre Pressure
#1
Im sure this will have been discussed before. but I couldnt see a thread right off.

I have been running 35/38 with Mich P/Power 2CT.

Yesterday while cleaning I noticed tyre sticker with reccomended 42psi f & r

I put press up to 38/42, but havent riden yet (rain rain go away..come again some other day)

Is there a general preference for tyre pressures?

Here we go again...

You'll here everything you ever wanted to know about tyre pressures. And then some.

It's a personal thing.

Have a sticky at this site and then think about what your after setup wise.

Like is said, personal... I run 36. most days. for serious fang days 32. and i check them at least three times a week.

Hope this helps.

38 - 40 FRONT and 42 rear.
Give me best results for sport touring but I only weigh 77 kgs and ride solo.

Looks like Im the fatty in the bunch at 105kg

Went up to 115 once when I gave up smoking.

My "ideal" weight is 91kg, but fairly certain I'll never see that again, would be happy with 95.

great how thread about pressure IN tyres went to pressure ON tyres!

Put in about 300ks at 38/42 and felt pretty happy with it. Will leave it that way for a few runs and see if Im getting any wear benefits.

I doubt you'll have any probs Tone. It has a lot to do with your style anyways. There is no 'right' answer. There are plenty of flat out wrong ones but. lol.

I can't find a gauge or a scale when it really matters.

If it wobbles around too much, I first stop and try to dump off a few kilos, if after that it still wobbles, slides and squirms, I try and find a free air pump at some later fuel stop.

Hope this helps.
