Side fairing panel fixing
#1
Since I managed to scratch up the original 99Copper Silver panels, I'm replacing them with two sets. An original Copper Silver jobbie and a custom jobbie. The custom job is using later model fairings which have an extra fixing bolt hole down along the bottom edge near the front.
What do they screw into on the later ones? Presumably a steel bracket of some sort, but does that bracket fix to the bike at some points or is it simply a bracket to hold the bottom edges together, ie fairing to fairing bracket?

it just holds the bottom edges of the fairings together, it doesnt actually attatch to the bike anywhere

Talking of which I bought some stainless bolts for the fairings off ebay and they turned up OK, just that the bolts are not shouldered as per original. Cheap but then again, not much use! Be warned, check if they are shouldered or not.
