Hi. I've had the Shark for the last 2 years and I love it (it's great, ain't it DJ?)

...but the time has come to buy a new one. I like the newer Shark, but thought I'd check out other helmets before I head off to buy one...
Any thoughts on these two specimens?
has anyone had them, or can anyone comment on whether they are noisy, comfy, etc...

I have a brand spanker KBC here in the box. It belongs to Rob Bandit. He will be able to give you a good run down on it next week. In the meantime, remember that email I sent about the helmet buy-in? Check this sucker out. Gobert Blue replica. Most comfortable helmet I have ever put on my head. Quiet too.

Hey Pan,
do you remember the sage old saying? "You either have an Arai head or Shoei head, you will find one or the other is quiet and comfortable while the other will be loud and extremely uncomfortable to have on your head!

because I have exactly the same helmut..secondhand or head from Ray Quincy for 99 smakeroos...
Must admit I could be tempted to go for one of those KBC's in black with bullet hole effects. A guy had one last night at coffee...me like.

its not enough stating brands and choices, the real question is what head have you got, what make fits the shape of your head best.
im an Arai head and know an XL will fit like a glove. I cudnt get a KBC to fit me right, nor a Nolan etc. etc. when you know which suit you best then you choose. arai's are great for quality but not the quietest.

Hey Thunder-man, can you post a couple of links so we can have a look?
I have a Shoei x-eleven.
Super comfy, but a little bit noisy, although earplugs fix that.
I recently bought a Nolan N102 flip. It's taken a few rides to get it to "shape" to my head but is very comfortable and the wind noise isn't too bad considering it's a flip-up.
the Nolan split /flip up sun visor is a pretty good idea too. I origianlly got this to try out the N-Com kit for my phone/mp3 player. The wife wanted an intercom so we could talk.......... I guess she didn't appreciate that I see one of the extrinsic benefits of riding, as NOT having to talk to her....

I am a Shoei head, both Kathy and I have XR900's and I find mine suer comfortable. The only other helmet I have ever has was an HJC, and I would not have one again, the whistling drove me nuts.
Give both the Shoei and the Arai a go, Pan. You'll like one or the other.

I have a NOLAN Casey Stoner replica and it is the best I have ever had.
Only $300 as well, a real bargain.
Add $70 for a colour screen.

bugger me. Pan the only way that you;re gonna find a good helmet to suit your head is to got to a couple of bike shops and try them on. a few people on here have mentioned shoei and arai and they are both fantastic makes, but unless they fit you properly you'd be wasting you're money. I'm currently using a Shoei but I used to wear Arai's when I was racing (years ago dont ask) and I had some fairly unpleasant accidents in them and they always held up brilliantly. Never used to be able to wear Shoei's but my new one fits well, so go figure.
