Hey Azza,
I just can't see you as Tenacious' brolly girl!

I'm going down with a mob of Red Dogs vomit Duck Riders, have a house and seats on the Southern Loop.  Wil be an excellent weekend, as long as the rain stays away.  The last time I went to the Island the Superbikes second race was washed out - too much water on and running across the track.  I'm the spectators  also almost drowned.

We will have to have a meeting place to catch up for beers (Jacks).

Good weather, good woman, good road, good bike, good-bye!!

FrownYes it may have been 2001 I think. Edwards won, Corsa was something like 4th or 5th. Excellent dicing in the wet, but how f*&^ing wet was it! and cold, how f*&^ing cold did it get! First timne IO have ridden through the guts of Melbourne totally lost looking for the ring road, ended up cutting the insides out of my big gloves as they got so wet when I took them off to refuel, they turned inside out and I was f****d if I could get the liners back inside, cold f*&^ing ride home to Canberra let me tell you!Frown

Hope it doesn't do THAT again!

6 years ago sounds about right. I dont remember how cold it actually got I just remember the ambulance being called at the servo on the ride home cause I'd gone into 1st stage hypothermia:ausflag: that was the year I think corser was trying to block the exit to pit lane to stop people going back out on the track cause it was too wet and guys were aquaplaning all over the joint.

South Gippsland weather. You gotta love it don't ya. It's like one of those really ugly dogs. You wanna kick it, but that would be wrong. So your left with a feeling of sympathy cause you cant put something, that has obviously been belted to death with the ugly stick, out of its misery. The sympathy grows to guilt, guilt that you belong to a world where a word like hideous just doesn't get close to describing the disgrace that is that poor little mutt. The more you stand there assessing the great injustice that has been done unto this unfortunate creature you realise that you are an egotistical, vain, god-like entity and that the aforementioned mutt is nothing but a festering carbuncle on the anal orifice of your existence. To this end you draw the conclusion that the universe as a whole will never produce as excellent a thing as yourself. Therefore, you must forever live out your days reveling in the joy that is such woeful imperfection. For without this imperfection you can never truly shine as the pinnacle of all existence. Love the rain and love the ugly mutt, they are so that we may be.

What a total load of crap that is. The weather SUX down here. Now stop your bitchin and spare a thought for us poor saps that live here.

Geoff
Aspiring to be more than I am, while coming to terms with the fact that I'm an ugly mutt.

I was there that year too, my strongest memory was riding through each town and seeing 20 to 30 bikes pulled up under the awning of every pub with a verandah. It was MISERABLE. I think half the crowd didn't make it.
