Hi. I'm about 80% certain I'll be up the Old Road for morning coffee (by about 10am), either alone or with a bunch of mates on Harleys .
Anyone else planning on going there this Saturday?
I'm going straight home afterwards to do gardens, painting, fixing fences, etc...

A bit of mis-communication... one mate (read: Kitmark the drunken boof-head ) thought it was Town Hall in the city, so we (4 bikes) waited at Marrickville until 8:30am and ended up at Berowra where we met Loafie, then had to fuel up a couple of bikes...
As we were pulling out of the Mobil at Berowra, Astro rode by, so we linked up and rode to Road Warriors together...
We also saw another Busa guy with a red/black 06 (he reads this stuff but doesn't post, and I've forgotten his name because I had my helmet on too tight!)
All up, 5 Busas, an R1 and 2 Harleys!
We headed straight home and had coffee while we talked about bling stuff. The Harleys headed off to Wiseman's!
Hope everyone had a safe and a great day!

Well.... I wanted to ride together, but the only one who stayed in my rear-view was Loafie. I figured it was because pan was being a good host and staying with the Harley guys and Kitmark was having a quiet morning. Either that or I no longer qualify for the slow group.
Sorry guys, I wasn't being anti-social. I'm so used to chasing Ruffy along that road (man that guy can toss a bike around !) so I just figured I'd better set a cracking pace or I'd be holding you all up.
The newly resurfaced sections were great ! Now I hope the council see's sense and resets the speed limit to something more reasonable. Surely by now they've sucked sufficient revenue out of us with the ridiculously low (and dangerous) 60km/h limit to pay for the upgrades ??
Back on my soap box !
Honestly ! Has anyone who rides a motorcycle been involved in setting the speed limits on that road ? The current limit was set by a pushie rider who happens to work in the Council. Yes, a weekend pushie warrior ! Abusing his position to convert the old pacific highway into his own personal Tour-de-France route. He should be fired. They clog the corners and cause mayhem by bunching up. Many is the time I've come round a bend in the 80km/h section and had to almost do a stoppie to avoid one of those pompous pedal-pushers. They hold up traffic, refuse to yield and when confronted have the audacity to tell me they have MORE rights on the road than I do.
As one once said to me "We're a protected species - got an enthusiast in Gosford council. No rego, no insurance, no cops, no nothing. We can do whatever we like and not even the cops can touch us. If theres a problem, its a pushies word against a scumbag bikers word and you'll lose every time. You're the mug mate, not me !"
.... and he was dead right. We pay rego, insurance and we HAVE to yield to them by law. Forget the fact that its bloody dangerous to have pushbikes on a thin tight winding road with all other types of traffic... if something happens, it'll be we who are charged, not them.
Get 'em off the Pacific Hwy ! Start a movement !
Good to be out with a bunch for a change. Sorry I had to leave soon after... had to go to a wedding.

Well said tin boy! If i was a bicycle rider (never) i would ride with other like minded individuals at a place that was safe and conducive like a velodrome or a bike track, not on a hilly twisty blind corner road where most of the other vehicles there are moving at 10 to 20 times faster than you (cars included) and increasing the chance of an accident by riding 3 to 4 wide as well!
Caught up with Speedz and Vicki at Berowra on Sun arvo, Speedz was feeling a little deflated - you could hear the air coming out of him, so out with the puncture kit and had him pumped and ready for action in no time, did a u turn at the warriors and the ride back was very tyre a-peeling.
Copulator!

I was there between 10 and 11... Problem is I ride so fast most people don't see me because of the human necessity to blink!
I was going to ring you but i couldent because
when i pull up from a ride on the busa, It takes the mobile phone coverage a good 15 minutes to catch up to me. I was only there for 10 minutes..
