I'm in Sydney this Friday to visit Col, does anyone know if there are drags Friday night? If there is, CopperJosh might join me. He is a virgin.

Yer, haven't done drag before so it should be very interesting. One question though. I'm having a great deal of trouble launching the busa & i'm trying to pinpoint the source of the problem.
I don't think its a mental issue as I have no fear cracking the throttle wide open from the slowest of rolls (5km/h or so) but it seems my clutch is just way too far out. Like, I can modulate it between friction point and just before that point with ease, but its too far out that I can't just dump it from friction point without basically having to pull my hand from it....ask Heidi about it. How can I change this?, like get a new clutch lever that is close to the handgrip. I'd really like to get my launching happening. Josh

I got a spare clutch lever and grinded the point of contact back so it gripped very close to the bar!

ACTUALLY, I still happen to have that lovely 'go fast red one' you made me wear. If you don't mind, I'll throw it on Josh's and see if that fixes the problem. If it does, we can mod his one. I remember my first busa had the same problem. I can't remember what I did to fix it. For some reason I think I shortened the clutch cable? I wish I could remember. Honestly, getting old sucks.
Did Col weld the slipper-clutch? That would help too!

So purchasing an aftermarket lever and simply fitting it can't cure my problem????

I have a 43 tooth sprocket that Bruce loaned me, and I have that red lever that Pan loaned me. If we are REALLY nice to Max, he might let us go around one day after work and play with his tools.

Probably not Josh. Just an after-market lever is going to be the same as your OEM one, unless it's a Pazzo lever (not sure if they move in closer to the bar though), and they are REALLY expensive!

It is the friction point that is the trouble, it is MILES out. You almost have to fully release the leaver before it engages which slows you down a LOT and makes it very difficult to launch smoothly.
